KIRKBY LONSDALE
A lovely day today, well half day really I suppose.
Hubby went to Ulverston Recycling centre and then his allotment, of course. It was such a lovely day and not too hot first thing, so I decided to take him to Kirkby Lonsdale as it's quite close and wouldn't use up much petrol.
It wasn't too busy so we called into Number 44 for coffee and croissant to start with, a lovely very light croissant. Great service to.
We then just walked along the main street to the church. Spent a little time walking around there and around the Memorial Garden and just sitting and enjoying peace and a beautiful breeze but lovely sunshine.
Sadly Ruskin's View is no more. We could't even get to the benches at the start of the walk, it is now completely closed off righy by the tower. Apparently this was all due to the storm, I'm assuming they mean Arwen, which has severely damaged the under structure and made it dangerous for anyone to walk there. No indication that they will ever open it again either.
So we walked back down the main street on the other side and went into The Book Lounge. Walked on down to where the "TARDIS" doors were, but they also are really no more, just the knitted ornament now.
After leaving the Book Lounge we heade dup to The Royal for a light lunch, but ended up not staying as we felt the music was too intrusive for us. On leaving here G was having one of his bad dizzy spells so we went back to No. 44 as it was closer and he really had to sit down and have a cold drink. It took him about 20 minutes to stabilise up, this is quite normal for him I'm afraid. The staff were thoughtful and didn't harrass us too quickly for an order. G just had a lovely ham and cheese toastie (with proper ham) and ( had a very delicious and light mango salad.
We then just came home. It was beginning to get to hot for me anyway, probably due to be surrounded by buildings as it was very pleasant at the church.
That's all from me for today. Do take care and stay safe and I will see you all tomorrow.
