Metal detector
Today we explored the peninsula of which our base Nelson Bay is a part. First stop was Boat Harbour, a popular whale watching spot. June is a great time for seeing the humpback and southern Wright whales travel north to reproduce and they were out in force today. It's times like these I'd like to have a longer lens. The second extra shows a humpback breaking the water's surface, clearly cropped to billio.
Then on to Anna Bay and a walk along Birubi Beach where we saw the chap with the metal detector in the main. The beach has spectacular sand dunes and hosts activities including camel rides and sand boarding. The first extra shows some distant camels.
All in all a very pleasant end to our holiday. Homeward bound tomorrow.
