Sunday: Soup
I will confess we were both a bit jaded morning but rallied quite well.
We met P&J at the National Gallery late morning. We wandered around the Canadian Impressionism exhibition which we’d seen before but enjoyed seeing again.
We’d specifically wanted to see an exhibition of LGBTQ artists that was on but when I asked where it was we were directed to an exhibition about the General Idea. It was absolutely fascinating and really interesting to learn about a collective we didn’t know about but, later in the day, we realized we hadn’t seen what we’d intended to. Still, no regrets about the exhibition. It was poignant - it was a 3-man collective but it ended when 2 of the artists died of AIDS related complications in 1994. This was one of their pieces.
We parted for the afternoon but reconvened when P&J came over for supper. The next time we see each other is later this year when they’ll visit us in our next destination.
