Blackness Castle
A lovely day out on the water today, completing my RYA Intermediate Powerboat training. A day of sunshine, light breezes, and more moderate tidal flows while we were out. Added to a planned diet of navigation, pilotage, man overboard drills and boat handling, we had a couple of free extras. One was an impromptu lesson in towing a yacht that hit a mud bank outside the marina, the other an unplanned “hat overboard” drill to recover the instructors hat.
A very pleasant day “messing about in boats”.
This evening I had to travel to London. As is often the case with late flights (and even more so in a post-pandemic-not-quite-recovered world) my flight was delayed.
Got to my hotel about midnight, an hour later than planned.
Night night!
