St Gregory’s Minster

A quiet Father’s Day as two out of three sons were away on stag weekends. One in Poland and the other in Munich. However they did send good wishes to Richard this morning.

Decided on a relatively local walk alongside the river and back to St. Gregory’s Minster. A fine example of an Anglo Saxon church. Although no close villages the churchyard has many graves and some Commonwealth Graves too. Just above the church door (hidden from the elements by the porch) is a rare example of an Anglo Saxon sundial. It was hidden under plaster and now protected by the porch. However a bit difficult to read the time!

Back home for a well deserved cuppa.
