Great excitement

I'd photographed this (crab?) spider earlier in the day but, as we were sitting eating lunch outside, a little jewel caught my eye on the fence.  Or was I seeing things?  No, indeed - it was our first ruby-tailed wasp in the garden! My camera wasn't far away but I knew from the time I managed to take a photo of one last year on holiday, they don't hang around for long.  I was back in time to see it fly off into next door's garden.  But still, great excitement!
