Thank you for the comments, stars and hearts for yesterday’s Alstroemeria flowers. The dark ‘background’ is a feature of the iPhone as the photo was actually taken in the garden in daylight conditions. I rather like the end result - with the image only requiring a slight crop before uploading to Blip.
