Pine sap

I’m certainly not expecting sunshine today, but this morning we wake to brightness - although it’s at least 10 degrees colder than yesterday. Of course it doesn’t last, but the day continues relatively fine. 

I notice a strange light shining from one of our conifers, a magical sparkle. On investigating, I discover a tiny sliver - almost lit from within, a rounded drip of pine sap looking almost alien in its reflective glow.
