Summer Fruit Drizzle Cake.
First tasted at our Pudsey Rambler’s Jubilee Walk when we went back for Dot’s for tea and cakes.
The cake was so delicious I and many others, asked for the recipe.
So this is the first time I have made it.
It is a type of sponge cake, layered with strawberries, and then after baking mashed strawberries and raspberries mixed with lemon juice and sugar are poured over the top.
Was very pleased with my first attempt, and it has MrC’s approval too.
Will now be a regular summer cake I think.

We enjoyed last night’s barbecue as it was warm even if cloudy, and the wind had dropped. We sat outside until about 9.30pm.
Today has been much cooler although no rain until 7 pm and then only a light shower which lasted 10mins. So have been out watering again.

Must just say Happy 80th Birthday to Paul McCartney. Remembering all those great songs of the 60s. Happy Days.
