Avoiding the heat

After the early morning market shopping, the coolest place I could think of to take our friends was down to the Rotja. The cold water was refreshing and it was definitely colder in the deep shade by the river. We sat reading books before returning for lunch. I dozed in the coolest part of the house before preparing for our advertised bell ‘concert’ which precedes a jazz concert by the Perpignan conservatoire. This is in memory of Michel Peus, one of their number, who organised many concerts in the village and department.
