ANOTHER ROSE

Well G made it OK, just 30 minutes later than originally scheduled, although Avanti changed the timings to allow for two extra stops as they had added two extra stops, Lockerbie and Penrith to accommodate Transpennine users as a lot of their thrains we being cancelled due to lack o drivers.

Boy was Oxenholme busy, I've never seen it that busy before, but undertstandable under the circumstances.  On arrival I went into the lounge area on Platform 2 and was the only one there, which meant I could get my preferred seat way over in the far corner to sit and read until G's train arrived.  One minute later it was full and all the seats on the platforms were taken as well and loads of people were standing around.  My heart sank a little when a group of lads, well middle aged men mostly, came in with crates of Heineken and started talking football, but to be fair they were no problem at all.

I understand that a lot  of passengers ended up gettng stranded on Lancaster station an the staff then went above and beyond, including staying a long time after their shift ended to help them all - SO A ROUND OF APPLAUSE FOR LANCASTER STATION STAFF PLEASE
