Fiddler on the rope
(A cross between Soap on a Rope and Fiddler on the Roof)
Day two of our short break away in the caravan. We went in to Chichester for a wander around and to visit the Pallant Gallery. This chap was by the cathedral cross balancing on a rope and playing plaintive tunes on the violin. Strangely not many people stopped to listen, most juts walked by ignoring him ... which seemed quite odd I thought. Anyway I took a few photos and put some money in the open violin case.
We then wandered off down the street until we found a nice pub, had a leisurely pub lunch and wandered back up towards the Cathedral - fiddler on a rope was still there, still balancing, still fiddling....
We walked up one of the other streets and had a mosey around evenutally heading back to the cross.... still there still playing.....
... you've got to admire that tenacity.
After that we went to the Pallant gallery to see as I had read they had some Paul Nash woodcut prints and also the Barbara Hepworth hospital drawings ... . I thought it was a bit pricey to get in (£9 each), but it was actually well worth it as the collection is interesting and the georgian building itself is interesting. The Nash exhibits were fascinating, as were the many personal letters and notes included. The Hepworth drawing were just so beautiful and tender. Go if you get an opportunity!

Oops almost forgot today's haiku:
He balances and plays,
Red plush case open beneath.
Few coins shine within.
