Attention to detail

This is Olivia reading a book to me in the library this morning before the start of school. She loves going to the library and has a good relationship with the school librarian, Mr Brewster, as he has known her for nearly three years now.

Olivia and her classmates have a lesson with him in the library every Friday and he was keen to tell us that Olivia corrected him in front of the whole class last week. When he was reading to them he said 'would not' and as quick as a flash Olivia pointed out that it actually said 'wouldn't.' Rather than being annoyed by this Mr Brewster welcomed this attention to detail and praised Olivia, telling us how impressed he has been with her progress this year.
Olivia has of course taken this to heart and now she never misses an opportunity to correct us if we make the slightest mistake. She is becoming a right know it all at the age of five. Now I know how my Mum must have felt or still feels!
