Roost

More marking in the day and confusing messages starting to come in from Inchcolm about timings (black rat survey? shags?), but also some promising rumours about the abbey reopening soon.

Had a studio session in the evening - on my way back in I was looking for bat activity, as we've been enjoying watching them swoop about outside the windows. D spotted where they're roosting - in the little gap beside the slightly detached window surround on our neighbour's window. Best is when they're out hunting at the same time as the swifts and house martins (very similar flight patterns!).

Impossible to get a shot of them of course - the best of many attempts is in the extras!
