Swaps

Mackintosh and myself are considering swapping lives for a week. I will live the high life of the single southerly high flying lawyer and she will don my wellie's and kick around in my life.

To aid our transition Mack started to document her week on Sunday (a good start) and I am starting today, things happen later in the isles you know.

So, Mackintosh... your Tuesday consists of the following:

7.30am wake up, absorb the what's on and lost cats from Radio Orkney
7.45isham get up and wave bye bye to eldest child and lovely man(see Mack's blip for definition, minus tripe stick)
7.46am make coffee
7.50am - 8.50am potter abut making breakfast for serial cereal eater and me. Read book, watch Basil Brush, ensure homework has been neglected.
8.50am shower, dress and convince youngest son that it is not appropriate to wear ripped trousers to school
9.10am take child with intact trousers to school.
9.30am return to find 2 work messages on phone, ignore.
9.32am - 12.34 manage to make headway through mass of work on desk.
12.35pm get summoned to emergency copywriting meeting.
12.56pm arrive at meeting, manage to fit in lunch and discussion about variety of other subjects before getting down to the matter in hand. Including an analysis of dark belgian chocolate packaging and project managing a house renovation.
2.06pm discuss copywriting issue. Sorted.
2.50pm back to desk, return phone calls. Have mad panic about deadlines.
3.27pm drive to school to pick up child (who goes of to friends house) reschedule parent's night appointment with teacher.
3.45pm back to work, sort out problem. Be creative.
5.15pm pick up child from friends, drive to neighbouring island to drop at drama club.
5.40pm home, greet lovely man and eldest child returned from their day.
5.45pm back to desk, fit in another bit of work before tea
6.50pm lovely man returns from picking up youngest child and serves up dinner that he has made whilst I was working.
7.20pm watch some telly, accompanied by snooze.
9pm escort children to bed
9.15 take coffee back to studio and sort out blip
22.05 begin graveyard shift
