Gwnes i sylwi'r arwydd hon ar fy ffordd adre o’r deintydd. Mae llawer o haenau yma.

Pan roeddwn i'n ifanc, yn yr chwedegau, roedd bwrdd hysbysebu yma, gyda ffiniau gwyrdd, lle gwnaeth pobl yn gludo gwahanol hysbysebion o dro i dro.  Dych chi'n gallu gweld olion yr amlinelliad gwyrdd ar y wal. Rydw i'n meddwl rhaid bod yr hen fwrdd wedi ei dynnu i lawr ryw bryd, i ddatgelu arwydd hŷn oddi tano, neu dwy arwydd efallai.  Rydw i'n gallu gweld 'Hovis' yn felyn, ond mae rhywbeth am 'Gold and Silver' yn frown hefyd. Mae tipyn bach o hanes yma ond dydw i ddim yn meddwl mai unrhyw bobl nawr sy'n ei gofio.

Mae'n fonws bod gennym seigiau teledu ar y wal nawr, yn derbyn hysbysebion sydd hyd yn oed yn fwy byrhoedlog na phaent neu bapur. Ni fydd hyd yn oed ysbrydion yn aros

I noticed this sign on my way home from the dentist. There are many layers here.

When I was young, in the sixties, there was an advertising board here, with green borders, where people pasted various advertisements from time to time. You can see the remains of the green outline on the wall. I think the old board must have been pulled down at some point, to reveal an older sign below it, or maybe two signs. I can see 'Hovis' in yellow, but there is something about 'Gold and Silver' in brown too. There is a bit of history here but I don't think there are any people now remember it.

It's a bonus that we now have TV dishes on the wall, receiving ads that are even more transient than paint or paper. Not even ghosts will remain.
