Meadow

Word on the street (OK, the country lane) was that there was a mass of wildflowers, including orchids in a meadow not many metres away from our house.

So off we set, me equipped with a decent lens and macro extension tube to take a decent photo of the orchid.  We think that it was a bee orchid (Extra) but I had not checked my autofocus setting (it was off) so my attempts at close focus failed.  What a ninny!  I hadn’t been able to check the focus because I was using the rear screen in bright sunlight. 

But fortunately I had decided on a few ICM shots as we wandered along a footpath through the meadow and the main shot gives a passable idea of the mass of colour and foliage.
