Awayday

Today I had a sequence of meetings at a company in Edinburgh. They are supervising three MSc projects, and for two of them I'm internal supervisor. So it was a chance to learn more about what they want. I hadn't been looking forward to it, but I was pleasantly surprised by the interesting exchange as we explored one problem and came up with a prototype model. After lunch and another productive meeting, I chatted with a colleague as we walked into the town centre. This took us over the Dean Bridge, with its fine view of the back of the New Town over a sea of trees. I always remember this sight from when I first came through the city back in '87.
