Although these birds are common in my area during the winter, this is the first one I've seen. Just another sign that winter is still here - we are expecting snow again tonight.
But as you can see, the sky is a gorgeous blue this morning, and the glint in the bird's eye shows that the sun is shining brightly at the moment.
The tall pale crest, the black mask across the eyes, and the pale chest all reminded me of the Lone Ranger - a TV show I used to watch as a kid. And that made me smile!
