Spiderling explosion

As I walked home from town along the path I noticed a brown mass  among the bracken fronds, a cluster of tiny spiders enclosed in a gossamer tent. As I peered, my breath alerting them to my presence, the mass exploded and they all scarpered (extra), the opposite of  iron filings attracted to a magnet.

I'm puzzled because it's usually diadem spiders that make this kind of nest but those spiderlings are yellow while these are brown. Could they be baby wolf spiders (cub spiders!) perhaps? 
I'm hoping someone might be able to tell me - MsQuizzical maybe.
