Day 32 Arzùa to O Pedrouzo

A relatively easy penultimate day having done the long stretch yesterday. Perversely I felt more tired today, perhaps after my first night of 6 hours sleep, routine at home but not on the Camino. I seemed to be walking in an externalised way and I find myself at the end of the afternoon with very few potential blips. I met K from Edinburgh who I hadn’t seen for a couple of days and we agreed it was a strange day, you want it to finish because you’re tired but at the same time you want to make it last as long as possible.
I arrived in O Pedrouzo around 2pm, plenty of time to shower do some laundry and get a late lunch/early supper. O Pedrouzo is a dormitory town for Santiago and well set up for pilgrims with several Albergues but not much else. A chance to rest up and contemplate how to spend my two days in Santiago.
By this stage pilgrims who are carrying everything on their back begin to discard clothes and kit. My Keen boots have almost certainly had their day and I plan to fill them with compost and grow a few more herbs on the balcony back home.
