Pessimism

I am not a pessimist. Quite the opposite. All my life I have been known for my cheerful and optimistic outlook.
But there are moments and as I walked past this rusting tractor this morning I did wonder whether in 150 years from now everything in the world will look like this.
Then I think of my grandchildren and I am quite sure they have the intelligence and energy to solve all the problems which our little planet seems to be facing.
