Pounamu

Pounamu is the Maori name for the highly valued stone often called Greenstone.

I took a client to the museum today. He isn’t too much older than me, recovering from a major car accident that has left him with a brain injury. His life has changed dramatically. Physical things have healed but the brain injury will be long lasting. He’s great though, good sense of humour. Quite able. The museum visit was ok but he really couldn’t focus on things .

I showed him this huge piece of Pounamu, I love it. I find it grounding to touch it, very spiritual in a way. . The word “Mauri” ( different to Maori) written there means “ life force”.
