Borgen series 4

We are watching the fourth season of Borgen. We watched series one to three when they first appeared. That was back in the days when you bought DVDs. Sidse Babett Knudsen is wonderful in the role of Birgitte Nyborg, the (fictional) first woman prime minister of Denmark.


As political drama some say Borgen is as good as, or even better than The West Wing. The cover of series one certainly seems to be inviting comparison between Nyborg and Jed Bartlet.

Borgen means ‘The Castle’ and it’s a nickname for Christiansborg Palace in Copenhagen, which is the home of Denmark’s parliament, and where most of Borgen is set.
