Perspective

My Dear Princess and Dear Friends,

I went into work today and really achieved nothing much at all. It's fine though. I helped a couple of other people and this made me feel good. 

On the train, I watched "The Truman Show" on my fancy fold-phone. I love this movie. It is one of my very favourite films. 

Every time I watch it I see new things in it. Maybe that is why I never tire of watching Truman attempting to escape his narrowly-defined reality and wonder how narrow my own is. 

And I wonder what sailing away to the end of the world must feel like.

These willy-waggling thoughts were knocked into sharp perspective this evening when I got home to a message from a  friend with bad news. I can't talk about it here because I can't talk about the affairs of others with a clear conscience. 

Let's just say the bad weather continues all over the world. We need to stick together just to bear it.
