And Amber Waves of Grain

It rained early this morning; glad most of our outside tasks were finished. We did a good job leaving home by noon. There are always the last minute jobs- baking, cooking, taking out trash, etc. The rain stopped before we’d left our county. We came across several wheat fields with their golden seed heads. I added a close up in the corner. Granted, these fields are tiny compared to the ones I’ve seen in the midwest U.S. And I imagine those in Ukraine are also massive. But they warm my heart. We grabbed lunch and dinner at a local market. Once we crossed into Va, we stopped to get a few perishables for breakfasts and lunches. Hubby loves taking the scenic routes when we aren’t in a hurry. Much of our drive was on back roads along the side of a huge treed Army base and farms with rolling fields of corn, soybeans and more wheat across the street. We met only one vehicle in over 20 miles. Many of the country roads were under canopies of trees, so scenic. This is our preferred way to travel. We arrived at our resort at 4:40 pm. An hour later, I have everything unpacked. We just have to plate our dinner and pour the wine. Life is good! Thank you Lord! Hoping your Sunday was as pleasant. Take care and stay safe. Thanks for dropping by. No news today, just prayers for the innocent. “The time will come that gold will hold no comparison in value to a bushel of wheat.” - Brigham Young
