White & Fluffy

Another walk with C, P & S, but this time we drove to the start near Wildboarclough to the SW of Buxton. After a steep climb onto the moors we reached a plateau covered in cotton grass, all dancing in the wind, & I managed to get a patch with the white clouds (as they were at the time) as a backdrop. This was followed by a steep descent, with view up to the spoil from the old Danebower sandstone quarries (first extra). By this time the clouds had darkened & I didn't take any further photos until we got to the local beauty spot at Three Shires Head where there's an old stone Bridge over the River Dane (second extra). The spot gets its name from the fact that it's where the boundaries of Cheshire, Derbyshire & Staffordshire meet.

It was a good walk, quite a contrast to the previous two, but would have been very bleak in poor weather.
