Long Envelopes

It’s not often you see the address on an envelope go from one side to the other;

“Boy Stevens, M.R” 184
Hood Division
T.S Indefatigable
Plas Llanfair
Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch
Anglesey.

By the time I arrived in 1968 the railway station had been closed for two years and wasn’t really the tourist destination it is now, the full name was not often seen but as young boys we had the opportunity to use it so we did.
So why use it as todays ‘Blip’, every year at this time there is the Indefatigable Old Boys Association reunion at what was the school but is now the Joint Service Adventure (Mountaineering) Centre. Mrs S and I went some years ago, it’s a long haul to get up there for an evening with people that you don’t really know that well.

Closer to home, it was the FRFC Thursday Gang BBQ today, with strong winds and driving rain we lit the BBQ in the smoking shelter, where else, and had a great time. Way too much food, almost too much beer, along with excellent company made for a great day.
I even managed to fit in an RNA Committee Meeting just before we lit the barbie.
