Sketching in the summer house

I am doing a six week course on expressive portraits in oil. I am doing it by watching the videos as it’s a rush to make the start and clashes with my guitar lesson. This is all completely new to me. I’m having a go at painting Andrew’s girlfriend.

A quiet day today. Watched the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. Disappointing for Lando. I would have had fun winding Mum up about Hamilton. Then while Mr T had his nap I sat in the summer house and did the thumbnails and tonal sketches for the portrait.
