Anyone for...
Wait a minute, that ain't real.
Up to Tawarachi and Asakusa for a look around some craft shops and we stumble across this place while looking for lunch. Actually there were quite a few of these shops, along with various other kitchen related ones. The speciality here is the fake food that is found in the window of almost every restaurant we've seen in the past three weeks. A little odd.
We finished up our trip with a shabu-shabu dinner with Aiko and Nori in Shimbashi. Fantastic evening with much sake, great food (another style to cook ourselves at the table) and atmosphere. There was also a weird mix of mid to late 90s music in the restaurant which led to much talk of karaoke... Oh dear.
Unfortunately we ran out of time for the karaoke, and actually missed the last airport train that we were supposed to get to our hotel. With no small amount of furious finger tapping on multiple phones, we found a late local train that would take us there with only one change, phew. And it was still on the JR lines so we got one final use out of our rail passes.
Very sad to leave, we've had an amazing time. And such a shame to have to say goodbye to some very good friends - thanks for all your help Nori, Aiko and Saki.
