Railway clock - Taumarunui

We we are in Taumarunui to travel by train over the Raurimu Spiral.
The spiral is on the main railway line between Auckland and Wellington.
It covers a rise of 200 meters(660 ft) over 5 km (3.1 miles) A gradient of 1 in 24. The track loops back on itself and then spirals around with the aid of tunnels and bridges. I’m not sure I will have any photos tomorrow as there is no place to get a view of the whole spiral.
We are here with a group of caravaners and motorhomers.
