Toad Xing
Annual preparation for the village toad crossing underway. A kilometre or so of closed 20 cm high fencing on the left field side set up to trap the various amphibians - toads, frogs & newts - as they try to get to the lakes on the right side. Twice a day, volunteers collect them up and carry them over the road.
People are encouraged not to use the road at all, particularly at night and there is an official 30 km/h speed limit.
