Giant Asparagus

Just look at this for a minute. That is one very tall agave, trying to blend in with the neighborhood by mimicking a telephone pole.  Several years ago there was a big old cedar tree on the site. The stump is just visible between the succulent and the concrete wall. Crows used to love to dive bomb pedestrians from the heights. I just read that agave is indeed in the asparagus family.
