How to cover the ring-pull

I blipped a while ago about my consternation regarding ring-pulls on cans. In this country the ring-pulls are exposed to the elements while in countries like Italy, home of the San Pellegrino brand, the top of the can is covered by foil. So the alternatives - cover the top, or leave it exposed. We pull the ring-pull and place it back into the can. Unless it's a multipack and covered, I've never been struck by the benefit in not covering the top. San Pellegrino and similar for me.
