New haven

Went for a walk around Newhaven. These are original fishermen's houses. They are now 2 houses one above the other, but originally the bottom part would have been used to store and dry nets.

Newhaven was originally a close knit fishing community but its character has changed. An ancient prophecy predicted it.

"When the willowbank tree withers away
The fishing trade shall also decay"
