Returning to some secret place inside

Well this was an exciting evening. 

I phoned Si on the way home from work, to tell him two things.  I called him, because I remember things to tell him and I forget by the time I get home, so while I thought about them.... i did it.

Number one was, that when I drive home and the weather is nice, the baby bunnies are laying sunbathing, with their little leggies out the back - cooling their bellies on the ground.  It's so cute.  Second thing was, that Ian at work, told me, on the quiet, nudge nudge wink wink that to night .. 

And Si interrupted me and said 10 F16's are coming into the airport.   I was so sad that he knew.   He said it was all over Defence pages websites. 

Anyhoo  we had dinner and went to the allotment for a wander and see if the rain made a big improvement to the corn.  You'll be glad to know it had. 

We had a walk and a chat, and headed for my office ( my office is 300 yards from the runway).  Could not believe what was before us - the road leading to Spirit which faces the runway, was triple parked.  Not even double parked. 

We turned and drove along the road to my office - there were people standing all the way along the fencing and cars were parked on the greenery all the way along the road.  

We, of course, used my pass and parked in front of the office.  And wandered round and up and along. 

We spoke to a few people - "between 8 and 9"  then I found a man with a radio - and he said "it's been delayed til 9. 

So we came home after an entertaining 45 minutes, had a cuppa tea and I was ready to settle, but Si Said "shall we go?   So we went....  First road was still busy.  all the cars were still parked up - possibly even worse. 

We parked back in the office and wandered back to our spot by the fence.  And the man beside us said "here they come". ... The lights in the sky are the first five (you can't see the fifth) are as they approach See extras.

Four came down in sequence; the fifth, pictured, was obviously Maverick.

Too fast, too high .... and revved his engines and went high and over and back round. 

Tremendous noise.   Brilliant. 

Next to come in was the refueling plane.  Yes, These planes had sex in the air while flying across the Atlantic...  Amazing. 

A little Antonov came in too.  all in all a tres exciting evening.
