Cowcross Yards
Our flat looks down on a little square which never used to have a name but now seems to be called Cowcross Yards (it was a yard outside the Danish Bacon Factory until the 1990s). The council sent a team of professional street artists in just before lockdown to paint cows on the hoardings. A few months into lockdown one of the artists came back and painted a pale blue mask on the left hand cow. Yesterday the team turned up again, removed the face mask, touched up any damage and replaced the cow to the right with this pretty Jersey cow and some flowers. The electrician is finishing the wiring to some new lights that have gone up. The waste paper basket is overflowing because it is a popular lunch spot for office workers and will be emptied later on.
