Dawn To Dusk

NATUREHOLICKS
Nature photography's in store for this Sunday. Start before dawn on the scooter with Amu heading southwards - 55 km from base - to Keibul Lamjao National Park to try our luck with the fully matured male Sangai - with great anticipation - since it rained yesterday and there's apprehension of a break in the rains today - indicating a huge bounty of the herds coming out in the open for the sun. However, as we progress onwards our destination mist greeted us and it's all mist when we reach Pabot Ching. Damn. And there's also signs of human intruders - making the animals scamp. We get only three of them - that too - all females! What luck. As compensation, we do get a profile of a Hog Deer and some five numbers of ever-busy-eating wild boars. So switch to birding instead and one particular Bulbul really gave us a show steal.

Later on, try our luck at the usual water area for the Teals. What a day, all the large group usually found playing and resting there were all gone except for a meagre few.
Again, as compensation some airborne teals gave us the loop-the-loop and some water landing action shots.

Try further inland for some landscape shots - not much with success.

Suddenly, it dawned upon us, today's the day for the pilgrimage at Thangjing Mountain in the Tiddim Road. Ride up there for some location shot and a glimpse of the returning pilgrims. None we get of the pilgrims. However, got a few of the play of lights in the vast landscapes including the picture depicted above. Truly, a worn-out day. And tomorrow's scheduled for a wedding shot at Litan, Ukhrul District! Whew.
