Two very lovely balls found today

Today we didn't have anything to do so Ann said, 'Trixie, would you like to go on a big, long, walk?' .......Obviously I wanted to go on a big long walk.

We had a very big long walk today. We walked for 10.5 miles and I had lots of run about time so I've probably walked twice as far as Ann.

We walked over Bruntsfield Links to the Meadows and from there to the pump track near Holyrood Park. I like the pump track because normally there's no one there so I get to run up and down all the little hills and because there's lots of trees surrounding the pump track, sometimes there's squirrels that need chasing too. Today there were two boys on scooters, scooting around but I was a very good little collie pup and didn't get in their way.

After a play at the pump track we walked through Holyrood Park. You can see Holyrood Palace in the background of this Blip. I thought the Queen might have brought the corgi's for a little holiday in Scotland after the excitement of the 'Platinum Jubilee Weekend' and I was looking forward to playing with them if they were out in their 'back garden'. Obviously they weren't?! Ann said the Queen would be in her comfy clothes resting in Buckingham Palace.

Once we'd walked through Holyrood Park I had to do some walking on my lead and then we walked through Figgate Park. I like Figgate Park. There's always lots of squirrels that need chasing and I also got to have a bit of a cool down and splish, splash, splosh in the burn.
When we came out of Figgate Park I got clipped back onto my lead until we got to Portobello Prom.

It was surprisingly quiet down at Porty today and also we didn't see anyone swimming which is unusual.
From there we walked to Musselburgh and I had a run about on the beach (just before the harbour) and that's where I found my first ball of the day. Yay! It's a really nice orange bouncy ball (see extras) and it was just lying on the beach waiting for me to pick it up.

After we reached Musselburgh we walked to Newhailes House and I had a run about in the grounds there. And then we walked along the Brunstane Burn Path which gave me another opportunity to have a splish, splosh, splash and a drink in the Burn.

By this time we'd been walking for more than 3 hours and my human was getting tired. Her feet start to hurt after a couple of hours walking. The plan was to walk home via the Old Innocent Railway Walk, but we were minutes away from the no. 5 bus terminus so we decided to just jump step sedately onto a bus and come home. That's the good thing about living in Edinburgh; if we get tired on our big long walks, we can just jump on a bus and come home.

The bus was very busy and you wouldn't believe the number of people who made a fuss of me and told Ann what a gorgeous, well behaved little collie pup I was. Ann was very, very proud of me.

When we got home Ann had a snooze caught up on EastEnders and I lay guarding my ball, and then at 5pm she took me for a little toileting walk. And that's when I found my second very lovely ball of the day (see extras). Yay!

What a lovely day I've had.
