Better late than never

Had covid not been a thing, today would have been our second wedding anniversary.
As it turned out, it was day 2 of my birthday instead.

Unbeknown to me, Mr A had been in talks with our hotel for the last couple of weeks, planning a flowers and wine surprise for my birthday.
The surprise was that the wine arrived on Thursday and the flowers never arrived. He was furious!

He had a bit of a dispute with the hotel concierge this morning; she insisted the flowers had been delivered ‘Were they not beside the bed?’ I’m pretty sure we would have seen them.
We sat and waited while she made a few calls, then she sheepishly admitted they had been delivered yesterday at 3.30pm…..to the wrong room!
They managed to retrieve them and by the time we returned to our room at tea time, they’d sprinkled rose petals, filled the hot tub and left the flowers (albeit out of water!!) at the foot of the bed.

It was such a lovely thing for Mr A to have planned for me, I was gutted the hotel messed it up for him.
Ironic really that in a 5 star hotel where everything is free, the one thing he paid for got cocked up :-/
