The School Photo!

After sharing Gran’s tile yesterday…..I ve been pottering about and came across her school photo !!

She is second from the left, back row ….Of course blipping it made me look more closely….she’s always looked very serious to me in this photo but if you look at the rest of the girls no one is smiling !! No school uniform . Nice clean dresses …this was a busy mining town so lots of smoke and coal dust .Most are wearing a bow in their hair and all are wearing shoes ( some parts of the valleys children went to school barefoot !)so they are looking their very best ….for their class photo:-)
No boys …..they probably had their own photo:-)
