Today's the day ....................... to see red

Of all the colours of the rainbow, the one I have most trouble with when it comes to photgraphy, would have to be - red.

Bright sunlight and red are a disastrous combination I find, so I took this when 'Isabel'  was in deep shade.  And actually, it's not that far from the deep velvety red that she is in real life.  She is a Renaissance rose - a new range of shrub roses from Poulsen of Denmark. They have large full blooms with an old-fashioned look and are all strongly scented. 

They are also good for flower arranging - if that is your thing..............?!
