Food for the babies

Although it has been bright and sunny today there was not much light in the tree where this mother sparrow was waiting to feed her fledglings with a beak full of freshly caught insect.
We have had more small birds in the garden today than for quite a while and I think it is because the magpies have left their nest in my neighbours tree. Sadly they did not succeed in this nest and having previously abandoned another one across the road they are off to another nearby garden to possibly try again. Third time lucky perhaps?
