The Lairig Leacach

M was pleased with my walk suggestion for today. The Lairig Leacach pass is a way in to extended Lochaber wilderness. The rough bouldery track follows the valley formed between Cruch Innis (Inch) and the massive mountains at the east end of the Grey Corries. Onward tramping could take you to Corrour and Rannoch or Kinloch Leven. Despite our outing being about 5 miles in total this short walk takes you in to land with a real wild wilderness feel. A few weeks ago M and I had a walk to the top of Meall nan Luath above upper Inverroy. It feels (felt) like a proper little hill walk yet a the highest point in the Lairig, which is a pass following a valley floor, you attain a height some 150 feet higher than Meall nan Luath.
Long before blip I used to maintain a little blog site of interesting walks in the area and I put a few words together about the pass. It is still up there.
