Flughafen Berlin-Tempelhof

Another beautiful sunny day in Berlin.

Lots of walking, but a lot of time spent here at the Flughafen Berlin-Tempelhof, which is now an abandoned airport after ceasing in 2008.

We were already pleased to see it in reality, but we discovered just by luck they were doing tours of the building, so we were thrilled to be taken inside and learn everything about this fascinating building. What was better that we were the only English signed up so we managed to have a private tour with a superb guide!

Here is the main hall for arrivals complete with original baggage carousel, which has such beautiful decor and high windows letting the afternoon sunshine in.
