The sea

Backblip
Train to Vizzavona and realised when I got off that I'd left my camera in the hotel, (not sure how I came to do that) so I commissioned Mr Rat to take some on his phone for me.
We had a steady walk uphill through the woods and then through more open country to a col at 1640m, the Bocca Palmente, where we got this hazy view to the east.
There were different flowers in the open bits and one section was covered in Corsican hellibores.
Lunch was eaten and a small hill climbed by the 2 of us and then it was a long descent via part of the GR20 back to Vizzavona - where the cafe beckoned. My watch was playing up (sulking because I hadn't got the camera?) and refused to measure the walk but it was about 8 miles.
There was an optional additional walk to Les Cascades des Anglais and at first no-one wanted to go but it's amazing what a rest and refreshements can do, we all did the walk, making over 13 miles in total.
There was time for another drink before the train back.
It was overcast and a bit cooler, which made the walking easier, and I felt better than a couple of days earlier.
