Youthful

Another youngster - this time a buzzard that has recently fledged. You can tell partly from its behaviour (quite trusting) and from the amazing yellow 'gape' at the base of its beak.

The gape is like a superstimulus to encourage the adults to shove food down it's throat. Same for most birds that feed their young.
