Scottish Labour Party Conference - Inverness 2013
Not had much chance to update here the past couple of days due to being at the Scottish Labour's Party Spring Conference so thought I would update with a montage of the weekend:
This was the first time I have ever visited Inverness but it certainly won't be the last, a lovely City that was very welcoming and I would recommend it for a visit to anyone.
One of the events at the conference was Rural Communities and the Environment and when I was looking through my pictures I realised that most of the pictures could be tagged under that heading.
Scotland has a fantastic environment and this is on show the whole length of the A9 drive north and in Inverness itself. Staying at the Premier Inn by the River Ness my walk to and from Eden Court, where the conference was held, was a delight each day. If I was going back I would stay there again.
As capital of the Highlands, it was a good example of a, albeit bigger, rural community. Lots of tweed, tourists, hotels, history and religion.
The event, hosted by Claire Baker MSP, spoke of the importance of valuing, protecting and helping our rural communities and our environment. You just had to walk around Inverness to see why these are both and important and already beautiful part of our country.
