Street party

We were invited to join a street party held in a nearby cul de sac. We took our own chairs, table and drinks, and I took along the dessert I made yesterday. We sat with our neighbours who are rather elderly (like us) but the hosts were much younger and there were lots of children. The food was excellent, a huge variety of main course and desserts. The music played and it was a very happy afternoon. We thought wistfully of the time when there were youngsters in our road and we used to have street parties.
So now the jubilee weekend is almost over. It has been a splendid celebration, so well organised. We watched the concert last night and although much of the music was not to our taste, we were amazed at the staging and lighting effects. So spectacular!
