Nepean Bell

Mauzee and I drove down to Penrith today to help celebrate her nephew’s 21st Birthday.  We couldn’t believe the difference in the weather.  When we left Blackheath it was 5 degrees and the wind was gale force.  By the time we arrived in Penrith it was 19 degrees, the sun was out and there was virtually no wind, amazing!   The lunch was at the newly built Log Cabin.  The original Log Cabin had burnt down in 2012 and it has taken them 10 years to rebuild it.   Their liquor licence was first granted in 1939 so it has had a long history and it was a very sad day when it burnt to the ground.

We had front row seats right next to the river and it was a joyful sight to see the Old Nepean Belle cruise by and give us a toot and a wave.  All in all it was a nice way to help Andrew celebrate and I’m sure he enjoyed the day.  By the way, when we arrived home it was still 5 degrees and the wind was still howling but thankfully the combustion heater was still chugging away and we had a nice warm and cosy house to return to.
